Sustainability

Purchasing vintage is the one of the most sustainable forms of fashion as it already exists!

Vintage clothing is sustainable for several key reasons. Firstly, it promotes the concept of reuse and recycling in the fashion industry, reducing the demand for new clothing production and the associated environmental impact. Secondly, vintage pieces are often made with high-quality materials and craftsmanship, making them more durable and longer-lasting than many contemporary garments. This durability means that vintage clothing doesn't end up in landfills as quickly, reducing textile waste. Additionally, vintage fashion offers unique and diverse styles, diverting consumers from mass-produced, fast fashion trends that contribute to overconsumption. Overall, by choosing vintage clothing, individuals contribute to a more sustainable fashion ecosystem with reduced resource consumption and a minimized carbon footprint.

What is classed as vintage, exactly?

A subjective question, however here at Fussy, I consider vintage clothing to be garments that are at least 20 years old. I'd consider clothing from all eras up to the 1990's / early 2000's to be vintage.

It's important to note that the term "vintage" is sometimes used loosely, and there can be variations in how it's applied. Some people may use "vintage" to describe items that are as recent as the 1990s, while others reserve the term for items from earlier decades. Additionally, the classification of an item as "vintage" can depend on the context, the perspective of the seller or collector, and the fashion industry's evolving definitions and trends.

Condition

Please be aware that all vintage items are pre-loved, worn clothes.

They are not brand new pieces but they are completely unique and individual.

There may be some slight imperfections which are expected due to the age of the items. Anything like stains or holes will be noted in the item description, so please read carefully before purchasing.

I hand-pick all of my vintage items, and to give them a new life they receive a ruddy good wash and iron pre-sale!

Sizing

Vintage sizing can vary according to age/designer. I’ll do my best to accurately describe the size and fit of an item to today's standards and not what the label states.

Any questions about sizing please drop me a message and I’ll be happy to help provide more measurements.

Photography/Viewing Devices

All photography of clothing is shot un-edited in natural  lighting to represent it's true self.
